Robert Ollis (Musical Director) is one of the members of the collective that formed the new Bailiwick Chicago, serving as musical director for its inaugural production, a musical revue called ?Show Us Your Love?, and for the summer of 2010 production of Elton John?s ?AIDA?. In previous years, Robert served as musical director for many of Bailiwick Repertory Theatre?s major shows, including ?The Cousins Grimm?, ?My Favorite Year? and the award-winning production of Dennis DeYoung?s ?The Hunchback of Notre Dame?. Robert was nominated for a non-equity Jeff Award for musical direction of ?A Man of No Importance? and received a non-equity Jeff Award for his musical direction of "Kiss of the Spider Woman". Last year, he accompanied cabaret artist Andrea Marcovicci at a performance in upstate New York, and he has played for cabaret shows at Davenport?s in Chicago. He recently served as music director for The Who?s ?Tommy? at the Jedlicka Performing Arts Center, and for special Victory Gardens Theatre productions of ?Anything Goes? and ?Mame?. He has played the piano for productions of ?Bombs Away?, "First Lady Suite" and "Patience and Sarah" - the opera. He has been the music director for a number of musical revues of Broadway show tunes, featuring Alexandra Billings and many other talented performers in songs of Stephen Sondheim, Jerry Herman, Jason Robert Brown and the team of Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens. He served as assistant music director for productions of ?Parade?, ?The Christmas Schooner? and ?Tell Me on a Sunday?, as well as the Chicago premieres of ?Bare: a Pop Opera? and ?A Kiss from Alexander?.
