JOE STILGOE
If Joes last name sounds familiar it is because his father, Richard Stilgoe, is the famed lyricist of Andrew Lloyd Webbers Starlight Express, and also contributed lyrics to Phantom of the Opera and Cats. Joe Stilgoe enchanted listeners everywhere with his debut album, I Like This One. His new show, Something Old, Something New will be mostly standards plus a few of his original songs.
Joes formidable piano technique and vocal stylings, which seem so effortless, actually stem from a classical training starting when he was five. His mother, opera star Annabel Hunt, taught him the discipline and understanding needed to tackle a career in music.
Joe has appeared at Ronnie Scotts, the Royal Festival Hall, The London Jazz Festival, The Edinburgh Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, and in jazz clubs from Berlin to Kuala Lumpur.
