Susan Anton
Susan Anton has been working in film, television, and stage for over a quarter of a century. Her Broadway credits include costarring with the original Broadway cast of Tommy Tune's Tony Award winning musical The Will Rogers Follies; she also worked under the direction of Mike Nichols in David Rabe's Pulitzer Prize winning play Hurlyburly. She recently completed the 8-month national tour as Miss Sandra in the Elvis-inspired musical All Shook Up. Susan?s theatrical debut was in the Marvin Hamlisch and Carole Bayer Sager Broadway hit They?re Playing Our Song, in which she costarred with Tony Award winner Dick Latessa. Susan was reunited with Latessa in the Las Vegas production of the 8-time Tony Award winning musical Hairspray, directed by Tony Award winner Jack O?Brien and choreographed by Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell. As Velma Von Tussle, Susan starred opposite Latessa and Harvey Fierstein, in their Tony Award winning performances as Wilbur and Edna Turnblad. Susan starred for seven years in the touring company/Las Vegas company of the Great Radio City Music Hall Spectacular, directed by the late Joe Layton. She also toured in A Coupla White Chicks Sitting Around Talking. Her screen work has been vast; her career was launched in the early ?70s, starring in the film Goldengirl, a role that earned her a Golden Globe nomination. She has gone on to work on hundreds of film and television projects. Through her production company, Big Picture Studios, Susan served as executive producer of the award winning short film The Last Real Cowboys, starring Billy Bob Thornton. She is recognized around the world as a distinguished concert performer and recording artist. She hit the top 10 of the country charts with her very first single ?Killing Time,? and has a Gold Record in Japan for her mega hit album Foxy.
